FAO 2011

This report presents the results of an assessment of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) conducted by the Multilateral Organisational Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN). MOPAN assesses the organisational effectiveness of multilateral organisations based on a survey of stakeholders and a review of documents.

In 2011, MOPAN assessed the FAO based on information collected at the organisation’s headquarters and in eight countries: Bangladesh, Bolivia, Brazil, Burundi, Ecuador, Nepal, Peru and Tanzania. The survey targeted the FAO’s direct partners and MOPAN donors based incountry and at headquarters. A total of 284 respondents participated in the survey. MOPAN’s document review assessed the FAO through an examination of publicly available corporate documents and country programming documents from the eight countries selected.
